Once a NARSissist, always a NARSissist. Well, who can blame you when the packaging for an eye palette is as beautiful as this?
On the matte top line we have Nassau- a neutral light beige which is great for using as a base colour, Maya Bay- a light, almost terracotta brown ideal for using in the crease, Ithaca- a dark but soft brown which is also good in the crease, as a liner and as an eyebrow shade, and Dogon- the blackest of blacks; a beautiful, pure kohl.
On the shimmer bottom line we have Mandchourie- a grey but also slightly blue/green shimmer which is ideal across the lid, Bonifacio- a lovely glittery beige which I would wear day or night, Zagreb- a shimmery hazel brown perfect for accentuating the eyes and Heraklion- a strong, sparkly black ideal for using as a liner or for a big smokey eye.
And, as you can see, there’s a little black kohl pencil included in the palette.
Above I have used Nassau as a base and brushed Maya Bay through the crease. I used Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in Espresso Ink, and the lip colour is an Art Stick, also by Bobbi Brown, in Hot Orange. For this look I used Ithaca through my eyebrows. Love a bit of versatility!
Above you’ll see Nassau again as a base and then Ithaca as the liner. I wanted a simple, clean eye to contrast with the strong lip, which is NARS Audacious Mascara in Charlotte.
Last but not least, I used Nassau again as a base before applying Mandchourie through the crease and upwards, and finishing off with sparkly black Heraklion along the lashes and slightly through the crease, also. I then used the black pencil along the lash line.
I love this palette. Although at £39 it’s not all that cheap, it’s incredibly versatile and will last for a very long time indeed. Eight NARS eye shadows plus a black eyeliner pencil would usually come in much more expensively, so when you break it down it’s not too shabby at all considering what you get. The colour payoff is excellent and the shadows are very easy to blend. I really couldn’t recommend it any more highly!
